“Don’t judge a book by its cover” is a popular saying. Unfortunately, in times of the very fast pace of life, millions of meetings and handshakes, not many people have an opportunity of getting to know their speaker better. This is why the first impression is so important and the outfit plays a key role here. Large corporations have been aware of this for a long time that is why they care for the consistent appearance of people working for them. This is specifically important for roles that require direct contact with customers. A good outfit will immediately be associated with professionalism which is something we look for. Clothes will not replace knowledge or competences but they can simplify work to a high extent.
Where did the impact of dress code come from? Robert Cialdini clearly defined the above through describing the principles of authority of clothes. A high-quality neat outfit will be associated with power and public roles such as police, military, doctors, fire-fighters. The above statement has been verified in researches a long time ago. In an experiment from 1955, people crossed the street on a red light three times more often when following a man in a suit, as compared to a man wearing a plaid shirt and jeans. In 1974, a research was conducted which exhibited that people were more willing to lend money to a man in a uniform than to a person wearing casual clothes. This shows the power of dress code.
During the training course, you will learn what dress code really is. You will learn how to look good and professional at work and during business meetings. We will tell you what to wear and what to avoid, which colours are considered to be desired in business, and which colours are not a good choice. You will also learn how to increase effectiveness and impact on the environment through proper selection of the outfit. The project was prepared for everyone with a professional approach to their occupation.
